spello restaurant

A steep slope introduce us to the heart of Spello, an ancient village whose history goes back up to the Roman Age. Two well preserved augustan gate surround the town: Porta Venere, with its towers, Porta Consolare, Porta Urbicale. Anyway the most precious treasure of Spello are the wonderful frescoes of Pinturicchio, in the church of S. Maria Maggiore. For its position, Spello enjoys a beautiful view over the Umbrian plain from Perugia to Spoleto.
