monte argentario congress

At about 10 Km, where the lagoon reaches the sea, rises Santa Liberata, the place where the Romans built premises for rearing fish and which, to this day, still preserves remains of that Imperial past. Argentario, an ancient island separated from the continent over the centuries, starts at Santa Liberata. The complete southern stretch of the Maremma coastal region is dominated by the imposing presence of this mountain which is crowned by the gems of the Giglio and Giannutri islands and also the tiny Formiche di Grosseto (a collection of tiny rocky islands).
